Learn your brewing methods - Experiment and get to know different methods. Pick one that will suit your lifestyle and taste in coffee. You can produce an really strong cup of coffee with pretty much any method, as long as you do it correctly.
Use strong coffee beans - There are so many types of coffee beans but to ensure a strong cup o’ joe, pick a strong bean with lots of caffeine. These are often labeled on the coffee packages.
Grind your own coffee - This is very important because freshly ground beans not only taste better but is stronger than pre-ground coffee. Also, be sure to store it in an airtight container so it does not lose its flavor and strength.
Ground your coffee very fine - Ground your coffee as fine as your method of brewing allows. What this means is, some methods of brewing don’t catch ultra fine grounds, like a french press, so grind it as fine as you can given your brewing method. No one likes choking down coffee grounds.
Pay attention to your water to coffee ratio - The more coffee to water, the stronger your coffee will be. So if you really want to pack a punch, try 2.5 tablespoons of coffee too 6 oz. of water!
Make sure you’re using boiling hot water - This may seem obvious but many people don’t use water hot enough to brew and drain all the rich flavors out of the beans. Even when using a coffee maker, we recommend using hot water even before your machine boils it. This will ensure you get all the flavor out of your coffee!
